Proning is a process in which a Covid-19 infected patient will have to lie face down in bed.
"Proning is a medically accepted position to improve breathing comfort and oxygenation", says Health Ministry.

If anyone you know is isolated in home, request you to ask them to try proning. it is beneficial in Covid-19 patients with compromised breathing comfort.

Know more about Proning:

Patient should keep one pillow below the neck. One or two pillows below the chest through upper thigh and two pillows below the shins

Step 1: 30 minutes - 2hours: Lay on your belly

Step 2: 30 minutes - 2hours: Lay on your right side

Step 3: 30 minutes - 2hours: Sit up in slanted position

Step 4: 30 minutes - 2hours: Lay on your left side

REPEAT!!



Importance of Prone Lying:

Proning is required only when the patient feels difficulty in breathing and SpO2 decreases below 94.
** Regular monitoring of SpO2, along with other signs like temp, blood pressure and blood sugar, is important during isolation.

Points to consider:
1. Change your positions in 30 minutes.

2. Avoid proning for an hour after meals.
